Mickey's Progress Report - Twitchin Kitten - 08-10-2010 I figure I better make a thread dedicated to the progress of that feral cat we named Mickey. Yesterday and this morning were big disappointments for me. He was more skittish than ever. Someone must have teased him or something over night. Well, we just got back from getting more cat food and stopping by to give him more food and fresh water. PROGRESS! He walked up to me and actually let me touch him on his face and across his back and gently pull his tail! The tail pull is a good sign of trust. Hopefully this will be a steady progression of good. Poor guy's ass is all flea bitten, raw and missing a lot of hair. If I can get some Frontline on him that will be huge. I'll be bringing some with me daily now. And I have Sofie on my lap as I'm typing this! she's quite the little love! RE: Mickey's Progress Report - twisteroo - 08-11-2010 Frickin cats.... He'll break down soon. Stupid Scruffy cat is everyone's pal now, he's not afraid of anyone. When are we gonna get some more pics of Sofie? RE: Mickey's Progress Report - Twitchin Kitten - 08-11-2010 Soon. Very soon. I gotta get online and get some wormer for the both of them too. I'm sure they're full of worms. Mickey is probably full of tapeworms too with all those fleas. RE: Mickey's Progress Report - Jamminitin - 08-11-2010 So will you have six cats shortly? I kinda would like another cat, but my son is terribly allergic. HEY, anyone want a cute 10 year old? Kidding, just kidding. RE: Mickey's Progress Report - Twitchin Kitten - 08-11-2010 I'm allergic too. I don't go into the whole throat swelling and all but my allergy shots certainly do the trick! Have you looked into that for him? Even if you don't get a cat, at least he can safely go into someone's house that has one. RE: Mickey's Progress Report - Twitchin Kitten - 08-11-2010 I got to scritch him a little today. I think "he" is a "she". I was able to get a better look. I'm not happy about another girl cat. They're more expensive to spay! RE: Mickey's Progress Report - Jamminitin - 08-11-2010 (08-11-2010, 01:17 PM)Twitchin Kitten Wrote: I'm allergic too. He gets super itchy, red eyes, a high pitched wheezy cough, stuffy nose and bad behavior. It's just easier for me to keep him away from cats. He's not allowed to touch them and if we go to a home with a cat we keep our son quaranteed as much as we can in the less cat friendly areas. We are pretty much hermits though, so it's not too much of an issue. RE: Mickey's Progress Report - twisteroo - 08-11-2010 Go ahead, get a cat, just make him sleep with his windows open....he'll be OK. RE: Mickey's Progress Report - kbear - 08-11-2010 Looks like it might be getting closer to coming to live with you. Good luck RE: Mickey's Progress Report - Rhubarb - 08-12-2010 (08-11-2010, 01:00 PM)Jamminitin Wrote: I kinda would like another cat, but my son is terribly allergic. HEY, anyone want a cute 10 year old? Kidding, just kidding. Is he cheap to keep? Doesn't demand Nike shoes or anything? He can come here. How about a 'hairless cat'. They are so friendly, must ask Amanda what Ra's breed is. He isn't hairless really- but his fur is curly like a Poodle, very fine, so it doesn't shed. Wonder if he will let me get a picture of him when I go to cat-sit this weekend. |
