Hungry for Obama Care? - Twitchin Kitten - 09-04-2009 http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/09/healthcare-reform-violence.html Man bites off man's finger at Obama healthcare rally September 3, 2009 | 12:04 am Here's a weird little piece of late-breaking news about the nation's healthcare reform debate: A 65-year-old man at a Wednesday night California rally supporting President Obama's embattled reform ideas had a finger bitten off during a scuffle with anti-reform protesters. Ventura County sheriff's deputies were called to Lynn Road and Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks near Los Angeles, according to TV station KTLA. There, an estimated 100 supporters of healthcare reform affiliated with MoveOn.org had gathered as part of a nationwide array of pre-Labor Day rallies to attract attention in support of Obama's reform plans currently before Congress. Instead, the rally attracted the attention of a group of anti-healthcare-reform protesters across the street. Initial police reports say that one pro-protester moved into the group of anti-protesters. Some angry words were exchanged....... read more and here's another site with the same story http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/03/finger-bitten-off-in-figh_n_276235.html RE: Hungry for Obama Care? - LKTraz - 09-04-2009 I heard about this from several different radio sources. Sooooooooooo THIS is the reaction from the "compassionate, caring, gentle" folks on the left? THIS is the freedom of expression and choice so championed by groups like ACLU? THIS is the non-violent behavior of those who would have us scrap the second amendment? THIS is the behavior of desperate activists who are in the minority and don't understand why since they presently have control of the government and are talking the loudest are meeting resistance! Basically.......they are showing the hypocrisy which is so much a dominant part of their agenda! RE: Hungry for Obama Care? - Twitchin Kitten - 09-05-2009 You know, I'm an independent because there are some democratic beliefs I adhere to and some republican as well. Hence the independency. But this far left / far right lunacy is way beyond normal now. The hate on the left far outweighs the paranoia on the right. Did you read some of the headlines in that Huffington Post link? Jesus Christ they are absolutely insane! It's such a shame that the younger generations are believing this drivel. RE: Hungry for Obama Care? - LKTraz - 09-05-2009 Or as Mr Limbaugh calls it...the Huffing and Puffington Post. This is simply a far left liberal blog site and the White House Press Corp is treating it like it's a VALID news source while relegating Fox News which IS a valid news source to the status of "You're here but we'll ignore you". The Huffibgton shit site isn't even playing in the same ball park much less the same planet. They're nuts! RE: Hungry for Obama Care? - Twitchin Kitten - 09-05-2009 So is MoveOn.org I can't stand Rush Limbaugh though - he's right on many points but his 'harumphing' around with his sometimes exaggerated bullshit is a bit annoying too. He comes off as some uptight moral authority when he's just as bad as everyone else. Remember the pills? Then you got Glenn Beck. Jesus Christ what a nut! He goes on about how he's a Libertarian and his constant crocodile tears, whining and paranoia is a bit over the top too. Sure, the far right has some valid points on what is currently happening to this country but when you come off sounding insane and paranoid, your message gets lost. I keep Fox news on all day until the silly shows come on in the afternoon. Then back to Fox for Shep Smith's show at 3. I like him, he cracks me up. But then I have seen Fox twist stories to make them more appealing. It'll be one way in the morning and by midday it's some horrible thing with a different twist. I do make it a point to surf the web to make sure stories are similar before I post something but Fox is where I go first. I've seen too many news shows do some pretty awful reporting and instead of simply reporting, they are opinionating. I don't want that unless I'm watching an opinion show. This administration likes any news company that slobbers love on him. He does not like it when he's called to task or asked a hard question he can't answer due to it not being on his teleprompter. Even that old hag Helen Thomas took this administration to task for being liars and not open with the media and she's pretty far left herself! RE: Hungry for Obama Care? - LKTraz - 09-05-2009 The truth is that there's really NO unbiased, straightforward, facts nothing but the facts news source in America that I know of! The majority of the mainstream media is on the left and Fox leans right. 99% of print media ranges from left of center to damn near Pravda! They all put a spin on what's already got spin added. |
