SR-71 Blackbird Model - Twitchin Kitten - 06-15-2010 Rhubarb sent me this via email today. Did find this tho wish i had the money. XD http://www.nitroplanes.com/arttech-21291-f14-rtf.html RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - twisteroo - 06-15-2010 So is that really a jet or what? I see on the link Vizth put up that they run on an electric motor, but that thing had some kind of gas going into it, judging by the fire extinguisher being there and all, and it sure the hell sounded like a jet. XD http://www.jetcatusa.com/ RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - Twitchin Kitten - 06-15-2010 That toy is using real jet fuel. From the email: Model-Jet Airplane This is one absolutely amazing remote controlled [RC] model airplane. Not only did they build its jet engines, but included a retractable landing gear, and built it into a fully scaled model of the SR-71 "Blackbird" that flies just like the real McCoy. This SR-71 model was built by an Engineer / RC enthusiast in Germany , and is certainly one awesome toy. RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - twisteroo - 06-15-2010 Thanks for the link Vizth. I would have never imagined that they had such small jet engines. RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - Eric - 06-15-2010 Love it! When I watched it I listened to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8rZWw9HE7o RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - Neutron - 06-15-2010 That is the coolest toy plane I have ever seen. I want one!!! lol just incredible ![]() RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - ralgith - 06-15-2010 Too bad the SR-91 "Aurora" (A successor to the Blackbird) never made it past the prototype stage ![]() Especially after we spent over 4 BILLION on it in the 80s. Oh well. Government waste for you. This is supposedly an Aurora, but looks only mildly similar to concept drawings for it. ![]() Wiki Defence Aviation RE: SR-71 Blackbird Model - Vizth Hal - 06-15-2010 Isn't that one of the jets from stealth? |
