So many great photos, that site is so easy to get side tracked on too.

It's very depressing really. I mean all those wasted resources (metal) that could be scrapped. And why leave things in such disarray and filth? Do we do this anywhere? I haven't seen anything like this here. Do the Russians rag on all that "go green" shit when they have this crap they're standing on top of?

I didn't look at Vizzy's spoilers so not sure if this is a fave of his but I found this quite odd -

Their take on how to handle disease (swine flu) is astounding. From the top of the last link on abandoned towns:

With all that hype of swine flu going around these days there are big chances that sooner or later more pig farms would look like this abandoned Swine City Grande from USSR where they had thousands of thousands of piglets belonging to the glorious state and then all was left unused.

The hysteria itself hasn’t reached its peak as it was with mad cow disease one when they burned down millions of cow bodies etc, but if they start doing such things someday they would get more such landscapes for sure.

Those wacky Ruskies, there is no swine flu.

I did wonder about that ship sticking out of the rock, it is pretty cool.
