I was a bit surprised by this news.
Dio was a small man (5' 1" tall) with a huge voice. Many thought he was the devil's right hand man. One of my friends said, "I guess he's with Satan now." and I replied "Maybe he IS Satan now!"
I really preferred Ozzy over Ronnie James in Black Sabbath but Ronnie did some great music on his own and with Rainbow. Holy Diver was probably his signature song for a great many people.

With the devil? You do know the "devil horns" he made famous is something he got from his old Italian grandmother? The Italians use this sign to ward off evil.
Oh those "evil" metal-heads, warding off evil thanks to Dio!
