Collectable crap - twisteroo - 05-11-2010 I picked these up today for $1.27 with tax. A little creamer and I suppose the other one is sugar, it has the spoony slot thing in the back. I'm sure they are not worth much more than what I paid for them, but meh.... RE: Collectable crap - Twitchin Kitten - 05-11-2010 Oh they are adorable! I have a collection of kitschy salt shakers that was started with some of my gran's. LH is into this collecting stuff - if there are marks on the bottom, get a good pic of them - he may be able to tell you. He looked up a find of mine and it turns out it's worth quite a bit of money. Lemme dig up some pics of the stuff - I think I have half the collection of salt shakers in the gallery already. RE: Collectable crap - Jamminitin - 05-11-2010 Cool. The only thing I collect is fridge magnets from my travels. I just don't like to dust around stuff. Lazy ass at heart. RE: Collectable crap - twisteroo - 05-11-2010 It's a pretty easy one, they are Avon. Actually, there are probably something like 6 or 7 hundred cat figures around here, I mean we gots a hell of a collection. RE: Collectable crap - Jamminitin - 05-11-2010 WOW!!! Are they scattered about or centralized in a particular area? If they are together, snap a photo-please? RE: Collectable crap - Twitchin Kitten - 05-11-2010 OK here is part of my salt and pepper shakers. My faves are the monks: [attachment=884] And these are my thrift shop finds: [attachment=885] The soup tureen and platter were the things that are worth like $150 If I remember right. They've got these markings on the bottom: [attachment=886] But my prized collection is my hockey stuff. I've a signed stick by the whole 1974 & 1975 Philadelphia Flyers RE: Collectable crap - twisteroo - 05-11-2010 The thrift shops rock. I'll buy stuff there and then go into the antique mall places and see the same stuff there for big money. Is that a gravy boat cat? RE: Collectable crap - Jamminitin - 05-11-2010 Looks like a soup tureen. Thanks for sharing. RE: Collectable crap - Twitchin Kitten - 05-11-2010 Yes it is! It has a tiny ceramic ladle with it too. Sadly the glazing is all cracked on the inside and there are some chips so I can't use it. It's a good decoration though. The blue cat is wood. But the soup tureen and platter are in pristine condition. I got all of them for $10! I also have a gorgeous silver Moroccan teapot that i got for like $5! RE: Collectable crap - kbear - 05-11-2010 I like them all!!!!! I collect bears. Oh and yarn and crochet hooks. |
