It was just him and me and punching the boss in the arm may not be a good move. He pointed out his son would be in later. Dutifully 15 minutes later right on time Cameron arrives. Gleefully I give him a 'pinch & punch'. He stood there motionless briefly then rolled his eyes. 'Oh Trudi. That is just so immature'. What is it with 17 year olds? RE: May 1st - Twitchin Kitten - 05-01-2010 Was a good race too! That Calvin Borel is a damn good jockey. Its the way he and the horse understand each other that makes him a great jockey. OH and did you catch the trailer for the movie - Secretariat? ONE commercial - a tease! Watch the official trailer. I wish it embedded - sorry. http://www.disney.go.com/disneypictures/secretariat/videos/trailer/index.html RE: May 1st - twisteroo - 05-01-2010 I did notice how old Calvin was whipping the everloving piss out of that horse in the last hundred yards. ![]() RE: May 1st - Twitchin Kitten - 05-01-2010 Oh stop. Did you see any welts on the horses hide walking him to the finish line? I didn't. I ride. My father was a jockey for a time down at Hialeah before he married my mom. He taught me how to ride and he taught me about proper "stick handling" on the final stretch. A good horseman never uses the whip as an instrument of pain but as an extension of his / her arm. When I rode regularly I always carried a whip or crop, and not once have I raised a welt on the animal. It's a tool like horse shoes and saddles and bits. In fact, the bit in it's mouth is the most cruel piece of equipment. That horse ran willingly for Calvin. RE: May 1st - twisteroo - 05-01-2010 I know, I know, I've been hit with a riding crop or two in my time, it didn't hurt as much as you'd think. RE: May 1st - Twitchin Kitten - 05-01-2010 I've a couple of dressage whips down in the basement and an antique crop with a stiletto in it ![]() |
