Did not loose power or anything. Only thing that happened to my house was the high wind blew out the pilot to my water heater. **aside..why do people say "hot water heater"? You do not need to heat hot water.
Down the street from me a streetlamp fell down..pole and all. Did a nice job...landed in the small yard between two houses, missed the houses and a car.

Around here we say water heater or hot water tank.

That generator is a life saver. Just finished pumping out the basement. Got the 'fridge on life support and got my internet backup! Yay for FiOS.

It's so much nicer typing on the big screen!

So much devastation. We were driving around today and had to check up on Artie Lange's house. He dodges a HUGE bullet. The outside is devastated but inside is good to go. Some water got in but the floors are all stone so it's OK in there. Clean and no sand either. Big 1" gas line was open and leaking. Thank God the switch was out on the same pipe. It was the line to the pool heater, which was ripped off the house and thrown aside. They built the house up high enough for this. JUST.
Next door and across the street is another story. Houses are torn apart and pieces of them strewn all over. The water is still up too high to walk through in front of his beautiful home. Wellies - thank God for Wellies!

Anyone remember Lucky Leo's? That tchotchkie shop on the boardwalk? Well, Leo ain't so lucky. The boardwalk is gone all the way up to Ocean Ave from the top of Seaside to the bottom. No one is allowed onto the barrier islands yet and probably won't be for quite some time.

ALL the images in that link are surrounding our house / neighborhood. The water is still up in all those areas. We dodged a huge bullet now that I see the pictures. We can't access any of these areas for a mile to two mile berth. Traffic is rerouted all over.

The electric company should be shot. NOT A SINGLE TRUCK has been sighted since Monday. There are STILL live wires down all over the place making gigantic traffic jams finding a detour around the areas. Lines for gasoline are unreal - like during the oil embargo of '78. Waiting on line for hours for gas.

The generator is nice. Gas usage is very efficient. It's running over 3 hours now and it's used very little fuel. We figure a midnight run for fuel for tomorrow is the better idea for refilling the tanks. We'll turn off the generator by 11 PM unlike the shit behind us who came home at 10 PM and turned on a generator until it ran out of fuel. I think we had one hour respite from his generator. If he runs his after 11 again we're going to say something. You gotta have some kind of etiquette regarding this stuff!

Nope.Beee

I have the only generator in the neighborhood, it's not my fault that I'm the only one with heat, water, hot coffee, playstation, cold beer, and music.
Suckers.

I mean if they were really gonna freeze to death or something I would let them stand around the generator's exhaust and keep warm. I'm not heartless you know.

Artie Lange's house Sad

(if anyone saw these a few minutes ago - you were not seeing things. For some reason they were upside down so I fixed them and put them back up)

All of these are 'clickable'

You also have a large space between neighbors. Behind us is very close company!

All heart Heart
What if they supplied the fuel? Or do you own all that too.

It rained last night! So hard we couldn't see out the window to watch little kiddies doing 'trick or treat'

Alice (the pagan) performed her rites in her mother's lounge and promised not to set fire to the carpet (like last year), although we almost set fire to the table instead. Nice way to see Halloween through, weather may of been crap, but it was good of Alice to 'free souls' into the winter

So, like all that crap laying around is up for grabs??
