My (adoptive family) mom passed away in 1968 and my (biological) mom passed away a year and a half ago.

No Mother's Day pressures.

A belated happy Mother's Day to all you ladies here who have given life to your offspring. Moms have a thankless job and deserve a day of recognition.

Today is my one day off for this week, up at 4:30am, and it's 30 degrees out.

RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Rhubarb - 05-11-2010

Cold windy day. Great for the washing out on the line, dried really quickly.
Triple wrapped for Bike Night and got down in there into a warm sunny evening.
My bike failed it's MOT on Friday (no horn) but No1 son fixed it and Hubby took it to work yesterday to get the re-test. So I push my bike out tonight and it is dead as a DoDo. Then it started ok and although it stalled at the junction I got to the Quay.
Saw our friends and the TIC's (my nickname ifor No1 son's mates).
Go back to the bike........totally dead again, I mean nothing not even a cough. So hubby decides to bump start me, much to my protest, there was too many people milling about and a barrier (and the harbour wall on a high tide). I jokingly said when ever I let him play with my toys he gives them back broke. He gets a right strop on (I was joking!)
He takes the bike off me when I nearly come off trying to avoid people (who don't move out of my way). Some bloke he was talking to about spare parts for his Kawasaki gave it a push and it started.
So I get the bike home , but it kept 'fluffing'.

At least it didn't work for Mark when he went to move it when we got home. New battery?

LOL I say the same thing to Matt when he takes something of mine and it's not up to my standards! He gets just as angry as Mark too. Poor men, can't take a joke. Meanwhile, Mark's pouting at your joke but he's pointed you to the Quay on a short stretch of pavement to jump start the bike! He's got a lot of nerve getting all emotional over YOUR joke!

I am regretting moving and spreading that pile of dirt today.

Two regrets - one that the soil is laid out in front of the steps that lead to the back door to my kitchen. This means dogs with soil on their feet tramping in dirt on my clean floor. I'll be vacuuming and mopping often until the grass takes over!

My body is already aching. I'm never supposed to do physical work like that but I actually enjoy it. I hate sitting around and I like puttering in the yard. Sadly my injuries are only getting more grumpy as I get older. This sucks.

I escape the Auto-jumble earlier than hoped Smile
May have an interested buyer in the 96 (only the ex-PR man for Saab GB) and a contact in France for the Renault 4. He is going to look for some inner wings for us.
Saw lots of old friends (one reason for going really) and it only rained long enough to wash the dust oof the vehicles! A first.

Nice day on the lake today.
To bad it had to rain some. Well I did some reading in and crocheting.
Good day!!

I have to be to work at 8am, I am usually up by about 4:30 or so, sometimes I almost forget that I have to go to work.

It's so sweet of you to pop in here first. Kiss

The pool is open. I spent most of the morning pulling off the cover and setting it up - filter, connect hoses, inspect parts etc. All I need Matt for is to tighten the lid on the filter. I need to buy one replacement part and we're good to go. Good thing it's not an urgent part. We can do that anytime. The clip that holds the skimmer basket in the intake busted. I stuck a 10 oz fishing weight in there for now and we can change that at our leisure. Right now the pool is filling what went low over the winter.

Now if the friggin summer ever comes, I'd be thrilled to no end.

I made two batches of "meatcicles" for the dogs today! They love these things to no end.

Anyone with a dog - just fill ice pop molds with chicken and beef broth. Let freeze and give as a summertime treat to the dog!
