RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - Rhubarb - 06-12-2015 Lovely trip for a bike ride- I know it's not the same but we are off to Sammy Millers on the 'bikes' for a vintage Japanese bike day this Sunday if the weather holds before joining Dad for dinner. RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-16-2015 Misty morning ride today. Took a couple of photos over the marshes and bay. The woods were cool, misty and still full of flies. Misty bay: [attachment=3217] And mist over the marshes: [attachment=3218] RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - twisteroo - 06-16-2015 No pics, but I got drenched riding to work this morning. RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-17-2015 Well that had to suck, twist. Today was much nicer. Still a fuckton of flies but I did save a turtle from imminent death on the road. Shot the shit with the ranger for a bit, picked up a trail map and did 6.78 miles. Took the cool wooded route 3 times in loops today to avoid flies from the marshes. I'm covered in poison to keep them at bay too. I hate using poison if I don't have to. [attachment=3219] RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - twisteroo - 06-17-2015 I'm afraid to even go to the park and look at the trails, they are probably under a foot of mud. RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-17-2015 Luckily it's all sand here and it drains right through. That bright light toward the right is part of the water that surrounds the park. RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-29-2015 Gorgeous day for a ride! No bugs, cool breeze and for some reason I had a LOT of energy. Added a mile and did some clearing due to rough terrain and big branches fallen from the rains. FYI - wet leaves are just as slippery in the woods on a bike as they are in a car on the road. Mud is good for your skin. [attachment=3226] And the walk cool down: [attachment=3227] RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - twisteroo - 06-29-2015 On Saturday I did a charity ride that I do every year. 45 miles, I actually felt pretty good doing it and afterwards too, just tired being that it was the most I have ridden this year except for spinning classes. Also about the last 15 miles was in a downpour. RE: Talk about your latest bike ride - Twitchin Kitten - 06-29-2015 I'm sure the spinning classed were the reason you had all the stamina for 45 miles. Not sure if I can do that much yet. Also I've been skipping allergy shots - oops. Kind of makes breathing a little difficult on those humid days. The weather was shit here all weekend so no riding. I'm taking 5 right now from fixing that side door stoop I made. It sunk a little on the edges over the winter and I can't stand it anymore. So I'm digging it out and filling it in with some blocks and scrap cement so it is more sturdy. I should have put some 'dead men' in there to begin with but I totally forgot about that bit.
