No, not metal. Looks like plastic to me and an elastic or webbing strap of some sort.

There are lines next to the metal grating as I will call it, looks like they were scratched in or chalked in to the background surface. My guess is this is some sort of movie promo photography for either star trek or it has me thinking stark industries from iron man cause the bottom looks like a sideways S but I know the backround for the stark industries logo is bluish which this looks.
