Yeah, that's a lot if sugar. I buy one small bag a year and that's only for baking this time of year.

Yep bake tea cakes ..just made 3 pumpkin pies yesterday 1cup each not to mention my koolaide princess. Theres plenty if sugar gobbled up and not to mention 20-30 dozen of cookies at christmas lol.

I've noticed it for years, Twitch.
My location = decently priced beef and good prices on most produce, but I still cringe at the totals when I go through a checkout stand. I am so happy I shot a deer this year and filled my freezer with steaks and tons of burger so I wouldn't be spending too much on beef. I also still have a ton of fish from fishing over the summer, so that will help tide me over.
I don't have a microwave so I actually cook all my meals, and I don't eat any premade stuff really, so I have a finger on produce prices. It's going to be interesting in the near future I tell you that. The only way to eat cheap anymore is to eat tons of grain and corn products and other shitty items.
I am far from being broke or starving by any means, but I grew up hand to mouth poor and have an obsessive fear of being stuck living on shitty foods so these days I do my damnedest to live like a Russian farm peasant now while saving money.
Americans are going to have to learn to cut back dramatically in the coming years, and a lot of people are going to be angry at the decline, but eh, what will they do about it?

Sometimes, I get a crazy notion to move to some Eastern Bloc country where people are poorer, but at least they keep it real despite all the problems they have while America lives in a gadget dominated fantasy land of encroaching third world status with islands of rich white people and jews living in gated communities. It'll be like the feudal ages all over again. Yay people power!
Also, I need to work on my outdoor skills more as I plan on making wild game more and more a staple of my daily diet.

Well that's why storage is so important to me. Hoarding "survival" portuons in an up town apartment for 2 adults a 5 year old kid a BABY. In the amount of about 6 mounths of supplies is going to do whay URBAN "city" family really any good in a honest to God poliical or socital collapse?
We aren't talking about 50 dollars being taken out of your food stamps or just depression time foodlines. We are talking oh shit everbodies out for himself your fuck times. And who gives a shit if you got a huntin license as long as you don't put a round through me my house my kid or my dog? We are waffling between oh fucking shit and maybe it will be okay and keeping it real in our budgets keeps us safe.

Eh, just keep some emergency shit on hand, but I am planning for the long term decline and stagnation as inflation makes the dollar worth less and food prices continue to rise and rise and rise.....
It'll come to the point where things we used to afford aren't going to be that way anymore as everything pretty much becomes like the 70s Soviet Union or a Brazilian Favela. Well, many urban areas anyhow. Lines to get food, less options on the shelves, people going without, etc.
Also, at that point I do not think a *license* and permission from some bureaucrat faggot would matter much to anyone. Fuck licenses.
