I did not know that. I figured since you are so far north you'd get a fair amount and have it stick for months on end if the temps stay below or at freezing.

Nope, it gets cold here, but it is way more dry than the east coast. Most people assume we get tens of feet of snow, but we don't. Maybe the mountains do, but most of the place doesn't. Minnesota is the same latitude, but remember it is near huge sources of moisture compared to us; this always initially confounds people from there who come out here.
