My dead, ex brother-in-law had a nice scam going with the Army. He joined the Army two weeks after it went voluntary. At the time, he was able to pick where he wanted to be stationed. He picked Germany. Eddie was a junkie. He stayed clean long enough to pass the army physical and get out of boot camp and overseas. Once there, he hooked up with the dealers for that heroin Germany was famous for back then and got out on a Section 8 medical.
Fucker received benefits for life and lived high on the hog off Uncle Sam. Never managed to kick his addiction and would drive us crazy with his little OD episodes every holiday. Asshole would OD in the phone booth in front of the VA hospital on Staten Island, call an ambulance and his father telling them where he is and what he did. He finally offed himself in 1990 in a VA hospital while under suicide watch. He had a big life insurance policy from the Army too. He had it split between his live-in girlfriend and his brother.

They all do. You have to keep the policy a certain amount of time before they pay out. Each policy has it's own stipulation on that.

I think maybe it is just common here to write the policies with suicide clauses, where it doesn't pay out. And back east you probably have the statutory 1 year wait period, then pay.

I think it was Allstate.
The family could have sued the VA for slacking off on the suicide watch but we let it go. He had been doing this to himself for over 20 years and he finally got his wish. Let him rest in peace and let it go. Suing wouldn't have brought him back.

I called an Asian kid thimble dick today.
He laughed as I spilled some tea on myself this morning, like it was funny. Then he proceeded to roll his eyes whenever I asked a question about something in Geology Lab. He looks like the modern Asian male I guess, I mean, if you can call it that. It's still up for debate what the gender is really. Modern times haven't been good to Asian society I think. Animae sucks too.
