GEICO should really stop trying to fuck with me. They will lose every time.
The car is coming home so I can do what I want to is and in it before they take it. I called USAA and they have strict instructions not to give GEICO title. They are complying because they have no choice as the title is in the process already of being cleared and sent to me. If that were not the case, they said they'd comply anyway.
They insist the is not mine any longer. Bullshit. It's mine to do whatever I want with until I sign it over to them and they hand me a goddamn check.
They are not done yet. They actually gave me a good deal on this car. Pricing it out stock, they are giving me $28, 000.00. Not bad and it's $2K more than what I owed on it. But I have a $4700 medical bill that came yesterday that I am not paying and I want all my extras out of the car, the monies out of my pocket for the towing and anything else they have not considered.
Matt's guitar player has a cousin who is in upper management at GEICO who we called on for info today and she confirmed that I am correct that this is mine and I can take it home. Funny - GEICO says I can take my possessions but they wont' let me bring the car home to do it and the body shop cannot let me turn a wrench on their property - understandably. The only thing I'm willing to eat shit on is the exhaust system because I just can't remove the thing myself. Everything else is mine dammit.
I just need half an hour to put the radio back in and the plenum on the engine and take out all my carbon fiber, my stick shift and the little trunk pockets. I'll eat shit on the clutch extender. Kind of eating shit on the tires too but it's OK. New snows on the car now and we needed to buy new summer tires anyway, so it's a push on that IMO.

They took it today. my heart is broken. This was one of the hardest things to watch.
I cannot find a new car to suit me. The new ones are nice but they have it set up that you can only spec it out with a limited combination of colors and materials. Ford.com you can build and see. Apparently the GT Premium like I had, you cannot get stripes. It also comes with the Recaro seats which I can't use due to my neck and to change those out it will cost me $3K (wtf?). And I can only get the tan interior if I get a black car. They don't make the same blue anymore. It sucks. I had the dream car. Nothing else will feel the same.
