I still live down here in the southwest, I like the way things are done here. One of my favorites is your vehicle is an extension of your home, we are allowed to carry concealed in our present mode of transportation even to the point of a bicycle, whatever your conveyance might be concealed weapons are allowed. If you climb off or out, then the weapon has to be visible and is covered under our open carry laws unless you have a CCW then it can remain concealed. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - Gunnen4u - 01-28-2012 You must be in New Mexico if I remember my laws rightly. I have a Montana CWP, so I pretty much roamed around at will with a sidearm on much of the time throughout the Western States. Except of course, Ft. Bliss...I hate the Army so much. I used to open carry up Sierra del Cristo Rey all the time, then stick it in my back pants pocket once I cross the stateline back into El Paso. Ah, New Mexico...so many fun memories. I shot an Oryx south of Alamogordo, spent time in Albuquerque, Skied Angel Fire, and traveled all over. Traveled all over the Southwest in general. But it's nice to be up here, where there are pretty few laws on anything. Most is left up to people. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - Twitchin Kitten - 01-29-2012 Havoc, that will never happen out here! That's a friggin' pipe dream in this area of 'the babysat'. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - AnthonyG - 01-30-2012 NJ laws and the state itself is fucked to say the least, every resident here knows another resident can not have a gun outside of their home or business. Only exceptions is LEO/armed guard or they are going to a gun shop/range or leaving state. For a criminal it gives them the confidence to do whatever they want when they want, recently in my town, criminals have been just walking into peoples houses in mid day tie the people up and steal whatever they want. God forbid you have a gun and shoot them and don't kill them, one guy got taken to civil court and was sued by his attacker for damages some how. I personally would rather take a chance in court then let the criminal choose if I die or not the day they break into my house, I keep my house "ready" at all times. Taking the original posted story for example, park attacks like that in jersey and New York City, 80% of the victims are killed because they legally cant do a thing to save their own life, knives are heavily regulated as well. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - Twitchin Kitten - 01-30-2012 I think having Christie as our governor now isn't going to help, Anthony. He's for gun control so I don't see him doing much. He has other priorities set and I'll bet this is at the bottom of the list. I don't get any local news regarding the shit going on there. It's kind of the same here. I'm very surprised that kind of shit is happening in Jackson though. Is it happening in the newer, bigger home$ that have been built over the last 10 years? WTF is happening around here? President Oblivious keeps boasting how he's doing so well with the economy and jobs yet crime is going up in places that used to make news for kids breaking into Atillio's and making pizza in the middle of the night. When people hit rock bottom like this, crime goes rampant. I just called Matt and told him to start canvassing Jackson for alarm jobs. If these folks have alarms, why on earth are they not arming them during the day? RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - AnthonyG - 01-30-2012 There is an apartment complex called the greens or something of that nature dont remember exactly. It's new, less then few years old,off of county line rd. The people that live there are turning into the projects, drug deals taking place in broad daylight in front of the place. As I read about the things going on I'll send them your way. I agree Christie will be no help for the most part since he is pro gun control. However he does not like nonsense laws,he overturned a charge for a guy last Christmas that was bs charge by a asshole prosecutor. Look up the Brian Aitken case, but for the most part our state sucks regarding our 2nd amendment rights. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - Twitchin Kitten - 01-30-2012 Another part of the problem is that people just don't open their mouths when they see things going downhill. They'll complain amongst each other but when it comes to doing something 'for real', they punk out. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - AnthonyG - 01-31-2012 Thats true, I have to admit for the most part as far as my town is concerned I haven't done much to change things going on here.I am reaching a point of wanting to get involve but currently I have only taken measures for my family and my self preservation. RE: "You know that guy you sometimes meet.... - Twitchin Kitten - 01-31-2012 Well, if you decide to get "more" involved, be prepared to do things all by yourself. You'll get a couple taggers-on in the beginning, but they fade out as soon as the 'romance' dies and it becomes work. Been there, done that on more than one occasion. I posted something for your attention in the news forum earlier this month http://twitchinkitten.com/thread-2814.html |
