Coons are pretty smart. He already knows how to get in where it's warm and dry so odds are he'll take advantage.
Maybe you could build him a refuge he could access out in the garage? You can attract him to it with things the cats won't eat but he will like maybe apple slices!

Rocket has been seen quite a bit in the past few days, he comes out just before dark in the evening and cleans up any left over cat food from the day, then shows up in the morning just about dawn for the morning feeding. Little bastard.
Anyway if the little fucker gets timid or something startles him he runs for the cat door going into the barn, like he will go in there and be safe. Hell, for all I know he might be living in there somewhere by now, although I have never woke him up in there any place during the day.

Apparently he's got himself quite comfortable and has decided not to bother your pets for a good, safe crib with plenty of food.

This morning as I'm leaving for work I surprised Rocket out by the side of the garage, he high tailed it to the barn and ducked inside for safety. The little fucker.

Well, I guess you now know where to set him up. Toss a few apples in there and he'll be a very happy coon. It just might help keep him from chowing down on the cat food.
Be sure to put a decent sized pan of water out for him to wash the apples with.

Lucky for Rocket there is an apple tree that hangs right over the area of the yard between the garage and barn. So he will be getting pelted with falling apples in another month or so.
