I love when a customer gives the bullshit story of being in a hurry to get things done and I get a call asking why it's not done yet.

A) I do not have a deposit.
B) I do not have the written go ahead
C) You have not done the pre-merge tasks that will take me 5 hours to do and then re-do because you didn't bother doing it yourself and left me to guess it out all wrong.
D) I do not have access to your databases and without those, I cannot merge you.
E) You have not contacted me in a friggin' month.

Well, so much for "let's get started nice and early".

I am on a two hour wait to begin. Headpoke

Mad house at work again! So its another holiday and yes we are closed and on Monday too.
You knew you were going on holiday to Spain, you knew we had to order your weird drugs, you know we can't 'lend some'.
Get yourself organised, this is why you have blood pressure/COPD and diabetes!

Oh- yes I may have time to look in on the wedding, when I've finished chasing drug companies for out of stock items.

Are you posting this from home or the road?

It wouldn't have mattered with a co-driver due to the timing of the first appointment. There's no way short of strapping a rocket to the truck's ass that I could have made it to the pickup point in an hour (to make it before close of shipping). The 2 locations are 240 miles apart.

As far as the pay it would cost them double because we don't get paid by the mile (or miles driven for team operations). We get zone pay. If a trip is between X and Y miles it pays a flat rate as does from A to B, C to D etc. Each driver under this setup would get the entire zone pay.

Besides......I never could do the team thing as I find it impossible to sleep in the bunk while someone else is driving. Tried it and just couldn't do it.

I wrote that post from home before I let out for the trip.

The trip actually went rather well and would have been far less frustrating if they would have just made their minds up BEFORE I left.
Welcome to my company......where certainty, effective communications and definitive decisions are aberrations, as opposed to being the norm!

5:45 am, coffee, furnace is running as it is 38 degrees outside, the birds are chirping their head off outside, no work today.

RE: The Completely Pointless Thread - Twitchin Kitten - 04-30-2011

I had the air conditioner on most of the past week. Today its friggin' cold compared. 52ยบ now but all week it was rainy, humid or hot and humid.

I don't mind the humidity OUTSIDE but I can't stand it inside the house. I feel like everything is sticky. Wash the floor and it never dries, etc. But outside, I love it. I'll work and sweat and take it.

Why are you up so early on your day off? I might tune up the bikes today and go for a spin.

When Charles and Diana married I was making 50 scones for the party we held in the road for the kids and mums. Mark was still in the Army then and all the soldiers were either working or away on manuovers.

So I thought, since now their son was tying the knot, and I really didn't fance the house party I'd been invited to. I went and bought the stuff to make another Simnel Cake, chocolate cakes and Dorset and Somerset Apple Cakes (they are totally different).
I put the TV on and watched parts of the wedding- the service mainly- and sang along with the hymns. I was delighted they had 'Love Divine' because we had that at our wedding Ok

The Peeps- Ray and Sue have just gone home from an evening here. They said they feel sick Barf I don't think it was the coffee or the cognac. The pink bunnies may have been the problem!
We only had one each!
