Back in the summer of 1974, a California based magazine ran a competition open to, "girls who can bring hysteria, magic, beauty and teen authority to a stage. Girls with youth, energy, dedication, wildness and style." In the end this band was formed, first as a trio, then, a quartet, finally a quintet.
