Meh... I agree with what Flamethrower said. No harm done, no potential for harm being done. Oh the drama.

No harm done THIS time. But if they say to this guy no problem, what about the next guy that brings his child and something does happen? Give this guy a warning and let it go. Then make sure the rules are clear that it is not ok to bring your child to work there.

It does sound like a tempest in a teapot, but if you compare this to an operating room, I think we can all agree no one would want a child wandering around while you're being cut open. ATC is a pretty delicate job that requires concentration.

even if the kid were to be brought to work, what the hell was he doing talking to the pilots?

common sense failed with this particular group of controllers, their assets need to be taken , their houses burned and their families deported and for three generations banned from re entering the United States, the airport needs to be closed and turned into a giant flea market.

NOOOOO You can't close JFK! It's my favorite airport!

I saw on the news this moring that he brought his daughter to work the next day. I don't think he should be fired, but he needs a reprimand and the rules going forward need to be clear.

I'm pretty sure the rules were clear since the FAA said he went against them and suspended him and his supervisor.

Matt worked on a flight deck on a carrier. Carrier, airport, makes no difference - you need to pay attention to your job. My friend Kenny is ATC - I wish his wife Bog would log in and give their 2 cents. I'ma gonna shoot her an email.

Actually Carrier requires much finer control.... there's no emergency runway there Tongue
Plus planes coming in for a landing with bombs and missiles is dangerous anyways. Not to mention the deck is usually pitching & heaving like crazy.

I'm pretty sure I know quite a bit of the differences and what goes on top of a carrier. It's all he talks about.

FYI..... if a plane goes out with a bomb they usually are coming back in without that payload Wink

Oh, yeah and Kenny flew Harriers for the RAF before he went ATC. He can tell you just how hard it is to land that bird on an aircraft carrier deck.

You must have skipped the part where I said "Carrier, airport, makes no difference - you need to pay attention to your job." just so you can tell me how much you think you know about aircraft carriers.

If I was a pilot and a boys voice came into my headset I would immediately say "This is an airport not a sandbox son, put one of the adults on please otherwise I ain't moving".
