Long term? Covid-19 will ALWAYS be here now. They eventually will have a preventative like they do with the regular flu. There will never be a 'cure'. Its a virus, so there is no way to kill it, without killing your cells that it is in. Hopefully they will learn how to better treat it symptomatically.
We were lucky in that here it started with new yorkers on the ski slopes. If they had brought in into the front range, our death toll would have gone sky high right away.

Long term - what I mean what is their plan to handle it? I already said it's never going away. But are they going to panic every time there is a break out? They don't with flu. So I don't know.
The virus is spiking because of travel like you say. NY and California are the biggest populations of Chinese and they travel back and forth home. Often. The officials in NYC said to go to the Chinese New Year parade. Go out and carry on your life, this is no big deal. One guy is Asian American and he used that as saying if you are afraid you're racist FFS. So these poor Chinese had no clue because their government gives no shits about their people. They lied to us until they had no choice but to 'fess up. People have been traveling so yeah, it's bound to spread.
Now the southern states are spiking and if you come from the list of 16 states with spikes, you're supposed to call 511 and tell them and then quarantine for 14 days here . NY, NJ and Ct are doing this. Yeah, people are going to rat themselves out. NONE of this is working. Someone needs to get some proper plans for prevention in place.

Long term? Good question. I don't know. We do know that is everybody wore masks, it would literally stop it in it's tracks. But as soon as that is mentioned some fucking weeenie whines, lies about not being able to wear a mask, and bam!, more people die. Anytime someone claims they can't breathe in a mask, or it cuts down on the oxygen they get, you know it is a lie.
Here at least most of the protesters wore masks. Meanwhile they dipshits trying to open restaurants early don't. A bunch of college students went to parties. Guess what? Huge spike in cases. So, to be honest, there ARE proper plans for prevention. Nobody wants to do them. Wear a mask. Wear it properly, over you big fucking nose. Wash your hands. Gloves. Gloves don't do you ANYTHING if you still touch your face. Gloves are not to stop the virus from entering through your hands. They are so you can change them when dirty!
We will need to find a way to live with the new normal. I worry how many businesses can survive that. The other option is prices go up...

I try to tell the ignorant fucks that the mask is to protect me from you. I tell them to be courteous to the people around them and put it on and cover their fucking snout along with their mouth.
If you had any consideration for the store/restaurant/business owner you would put it on. They don't want to tattoo a number on your fucking forearm, just put the paper mask on until you are seated or done shopping.
Every time I see a nose hanging out of a mask I just want to break that fuckers nose.
I'm so fucking sick of ignorance. There are people that I don't talk to or associate with any longer over the mask issue. Fuck em. Don't go away mad, just go the fuck away.
