RE: My car - twisteroo - 11-21-2017 Years back we (wife and self) were driving through a snow storm in separate vehicles, it was a white out, I was in the lead and suddenly there are headlights coming at my passenger side, I turned hard and went down into the ditch. I jump out and wife and other guy are stopped on the road. Other guy hit her truck on the passenger side......yada, yada, yada....long story short after all the police reports (they never talked to me because I wasn't involved, and the sheriff actually pulled me out of the ditch so I could get to work), after the truck was fixed and everything was over and done with, MY insurance company calls ME, saying that the guy's insurance company said the whole thing was MY fault. Well FUCK YOU!!!! I had copies of the accident reports and knew what they said, my name was never mentioned on any of them. I informed them that the other insurance company can bite my ass and if need be I would just deny being there, they got no fucking proof. I explained what happened during the white out, the police reports and all. They thanked me and I never heard another word about it. Pretty much standard insurance company bullshit Twitch. Deny everything, blame everyone else and make you fight for what is owed to you. Good luck. RE: My car - Twitchin Kitten - 11-22-2017 Twist, they automatically deem you at fault for a rear end collision. I need the police reports and I'm taking this as far as I can. I don't want this on my insurance "record" and my rates going up for this. He and his should pay. Let them collect from his company. The cops didn't even ask if we were drinking. I don't know what he asked them. We were not allowed out of the car due to the extreme dangerous location of the wreck. I will be taking him to court civilly because any out of pocket expense and repurchasing of expensive mods like carbon fiber and grilles are coming out of his goddam pocket. What kind of asshole doesn't put on the flashers in a situation like that? RE: My car - tatzgrrly - 11-23-2017 Heartbreaking... I am glad you guys are ok but... RE: My car - Twitchin Kitten - 12-04-2017 So I come home to find out that there was a $10K supplement submitted to insurance on the car. We're close to $20K in damages now and that's using cheap Chinese replacement parts. Waiting for the adjuster to call me back so I can insist on OEM parts because I do not want some bullshit parts failing me. Body shop guy said their suggested replacement parts are utter crap. I have a feeling they're going to total the car due to the cost to fix vs cost to replace factor. This sucks. The car is getting paid off in full this week too. I'm going to be out $3K in custom parts on a total unless I find a 2014 with super low miles to replace this. I'm so pissed off right now. Police STILL have not submitted a report. We postponed one court date because of this and I hope we don't have to for the next one as it works out that Matt is off work that day. RE: My car - Twitchin Kitten - 12-04-2017 Oh this gets better and better. JUST got the police report because they were kind enough to actually return a call. It's a complete fabrication! What do I do here? I'm clueless on this now. Who do I call about this? RE: My car - Twitchin Kitten - 12-07-2017 (12-04-2017, 12:29 PM)Twitchin Kitten Wrote: Oh this gets better and better. I found out I can actually petition for an amendment on this report. Called the SP number and she called me back, gave me instructions and an email address and I sent it. It's been acknowledged and sadly, it has to go to the officer for approval. RE: My car - Twitchin Kitten - 12-07-2017 It's looking like they're going to total the car. I'm full of mixed feelings. They're also giving me a hard time about the extras! FFS I got $1800 worth of radio, $2K worth or exhaust, $1200 worth of carbon fiber and much more. I have the original exhaust and can easily pull the radio and carbon fiber but they want the exhaust reinstalled FFS and they won't reimburse me for the parts if I keep them in. Like I want to pay to have the parts put back? I'm so pissed. That prick gets his shit paid for, gets away with his bullshit and my insurance pays his damages that HE CAUSED. I'm out thousands and my daily ride. Once they total it I gather they pull the rental out from under me too? I've no idea. Top it off, the truck we have waiting for us back in Detroit keeps piling up the expenses. < story to come on that whole trip once I get my head right and gather all the story to post. RE: My car - Biker Dude - 12-07-2017 Getting paid for modification is always difficult. So that doesn't surprise me. You may get a grace period on the rental of a week or something, but yeas, once they pay out, it will stop. I was told that on the original inspection when it was still in my driveway. I'm hoping the body shop gives me that heated garage out front so I can work on pulling shit off myself. Fuck them on the exhaust and having a working radio. I can swap out the radio but I cannot figure the wiring out and I'll be damned if I crawl under there and install the original exhaust. they say they price out the total loss on it having all the working parts. Seriously? The car is being totaled because it's not working FFS. RE: My car - Twitchin Kitten - 12-08-2017 Oh and top it off, I have to call the dealer i got it from because I have $1900 in extended warranties for the car and wheels that I have no idea if they carry over to a new car or if they reimburse me on them because they really haven't kicked in from the original warranty yet. |
