If they don't develop a natural fear of humans then yes, it is natural selection at work.

I hate "trophy" hunters and those who think it's "their woods, their deer, their etc" are just half assed poachers in my book.

When I hunt deer I really don't give a shit about how big the rack is. As long as it's got the legal number of points.
The only parts I don't use are the heart, liver and kidneys. I will give them to friends who WILL eat them so there's no waste.

I never get a doe tag. A 2-3 year old buck is my primary game.

Pennsylvania is overrun with deer (contrary to popular belief). Of the total number of deer killed in a calendar year there are nearly as many killed on the highway as there are by hunters. I-81 and I-80 sometimes look like they have been painted red for long stretches.

I would much sooner see these animals thinned out by (responsible) hunting than killed on the roads where they are nothing more than a cause for higher insurance rates.

Wow, I did an aerial of my old farm and it's ruined. They are using it for a boatyard and all the fencing is down. Acres of wood fencing shot to hell. The barn is being used as a garage along with the shed/garage next to it. The pastures are now ATV trails. They shit the place up nicely.

That's it, the next time Bambi nibbles on my blueberries I'm gonna blast her in the guts with a shotgun.Hysterical

Nah.....I actually took a week off in November just in case I want to hunt this year. I probably won't.

From what I saw while we still delivered in your neck of the woods Twist, the valley that runs between Falconer and Gerry seems to be a good area for deer hunting. The other is along NY 5 between Clarence and Bushville.

There are deer everywhere, like even in my back yard.
I bet the 5 miles I run between home and work has 100 deer killed on it every year.

RE: Blueberries - twisteroo - 08-21-2014

Wait!!!! You know where Bushville is?!?!?

RE: Blueberries - Twitchin Kitten - 08-21-2014

Bushville Giggle

RE: Blueberries - twisteroo - 08-22-2014

Bushville is a tiny little section of road outside of Batavia. I barely exists. I don't even think there is a sign any more. Bushville auto parts is probably the only thing left other than some locals still call it bushville. The auto parts/junk yard is long closed down. I will have to notice for any signs the next time I go that way. I think people call the little bridge the bushville bridge.
Little known facts.

One of the few things I could find about Bushville.

Quote:Bushville was founded when William H. and Louisa Post Bush came to Batavia in 1806, and established their mills three miles west of the village. With these employment opportunities, it would have been natural for people to come live in Bushville. Soon, a district school was established and the Quaker Friends Church began in 1875. Now the mills are gone, the church is gone, and the school is a private home. Bushville is a place where people live but have few places to gather.

You can always build a meeting hall and crown yourself Emperor of Bushville. Give the people the gathering place they crave.
