I bake. Recipe for Lemon Cake to die for is in the cooking forum.
There's a nice thrift shop here and I go looking for deals on odd things. I found a lovely Italian serving platter and matching tureen with cats on it. Turns out it is worth more than the $10 I paid for them - much more!

I love to bake when I get the chance, but with a teen in the house, it is hard to. Then you have LK that cooks our holiday meals, some Sundays. Like roasts & other things, love it when he cooks!!
We do take turns on who cooks what though. We each have our own recipe for meatloaf so the next time it‘s my turn.

So does my husband........much of the house it kitted out with thrift and yard or carboot sales.
Just got back from visiting Nightmare and we picked up a kitchen pan that at £5 was a bargain after seeing the same one was £40 in a cook shop nearby.
I also picked up a tip for my crochet from the girl on the counter- free!

Cool cool cool, nothing wrong with that at all. I‘ve been doing this most of my life. My kitchen well most of the house was done up with hand me downs, yard sales, bargain stores & thrift shops, flea markets or real estate auctions.. Only new utensils I‘d get would be at Christmas would be from my ex inlaws. So I was spoiled to bargains. I started collecting the diamond cut Wexford dish married in 80. I still have most of the pieces, some I lost to a fire in 2000. But I love that set. Same with my white Corningware baking dishes got them the same
way.

Flea markets were always the best when I was married to my ex. Found alot of beautiful things that way for everyone for their birthdays, Mother‘s or Father‘s day Easter & Christmas. Alot of new brand name stuff too!!
