RE: Bike of the Year - LKTraz - 10-23-2012 I'd love to take a pass with a Top Gas dragster (6.50 range) followed by TAD (top alcohol dragster 5.20 range) and then try Top Fuel (3.80 range @ 320 or so MPH across 1000 feet) Now that would do for me in the adrenaline category! RE: Bike of the Year - Rhubarb - 10-24-2012 Quote:The first is being shot at, in the middle of a hot firefight. Now if you really love excitement, nothing beats having the rounds fly by you, going faster than the speed of sound, and the fear of a mortar round landing right next to you. Its the biggest adrenaline high you can imagine. And it is also addictive as all get out, if you like taking chances. Too many of my friends are in that line of work- I don't need the adrenaline ![]() I get a buzz from a military band marching down the High Street with the beat of the drums resonating off the buildings. Safe and a wonderful sound. (*Friends turned up at our house yesterday, on their Harley. The sound is so distinct I know its them and they bring the bike in the drive if there is room so it burbles through our carport and makes me run to put the kettle on) ![]() We forgive them for riding Harley just because they are Londoners and don't know better ![]() RE: Bike of the Year - John L - 10-25-2012 Rhubarb, adrenaline is the most addictive drug in existence, period. Nothing has such a strong affect on us. Fortunately, it burns itself out almost immediately. If it lasted longer, the human species would be ruined. I realized that I was an adrenaline junkie a long time ago, and now I don't do anything that will cause it to crank up on me. I don't speed any longer either. If someone wants to get from point A to point B in the shortest time, I move over and let them "Give it a Go", as you blokes say it "over Here". Its not worth it any longer, and leads to a shorter lifespan. RE: Bike of the Year - Rhubarb - 10-25-2012 On Saturday I've been invited out with the Black Sheep Bikers to follow a charity run for the school where my husband cooks for the residential kids. It made me smile since they are such a scary lot on their 125cc!!! No1 son is more their age group but has nothing to do with them because they are nutters and possibly are set to end their biking careers in a mess and he doesn't intend to go there again. I'm going to 3 hours of YinYoga instead. Adrenaline not needed but I hope to be totally stress free but still on a high ![]() |
