Wow, another travesty of British justice revealed. Color me so shocked. As if the American legal system wasn't fucked, I hear tell of all sorts of terribly sad shit coming out of the UK. Why were the sentences so short? Released?

What's funny: El Paso, a city on Mexico's border from the warzone of Juarez, is far safer than New Jersey and other parts of the civilized world.

Meh, not really. The law of averages comes into play. More people in an area will naturally have higher crime stats.
We don't get loony kids like THIS though.

For 1.1 million people in the area, the El Paso region does pretty damn amazing.
Anyhow, these aren't anything you wouldn't find either: weird cultish belief and other strangeness abounds everywhere, cf. San Francisco among other places.

Texas has the "castle law" "stand your ground law" , you want to know why crime is high in any given place? associate it with laws that protect criminals and make innocent honest citizens into easy targets by restricting them from protecting themselves..

Yea, that was my point. Compare it to Juarez - heavily restricted firearms control.
I was immersed in the El Paso gun scene for a couple of years. Guns everywhere. I think about 1/3 my inventory came from cash and carry purchases at gun shows and some store purchases.
