RE: Finally! A new TV - Twitchin Kitten - 03-13-2011 Well, with my gigantic stereo speakers attached, we're enveloped in sound. The room is small though, so the 42 is the perfect size. When Matt gets home, I'll have him post a permanent thread somewhere on how to measure your room for the right size TV. He said these things need to be the right size or it's just too much and difficult to view. He has a lot of customers who refuse to listen to him and in about a month, they wind up regretting it and are stuck with a gigantic TV that is uncomfortable to watch. I think we're about 9 feet from the TV, maybe a little more. I never measured but my living room is really small. Actually, my whole house is! RE: Finally! A new TV - LKTraz - 03-13-2011 I sit around 10 feet from my 42" LCD and it's very comfortable. By rights I could go to a 60" and still be good but much bigger than a 47" to 50" won't fit in my entrainment center. The 42 was priced right when I bought it ($1,200.00 but then again the prices were still up on LCD TVs at the time) so I'm happy with it. Mine is a Phillips and it has one hell of a good audio amplifier! Even without coupling it to a surround system and just using it's stock sound bar speakers it sounds great. If I want earth shattering tone and volume I feed it through my bigassed PA system. |
