Sadly today many vets are med school flunkies who decided that veterinary medicine is a lucrative alternative to dropping out completely and having to find another profession. This accounts for the lack of compassion for the animals. In the past vets were those who truly loved animals and went into it for that reason.

Vets are hard to come by here, there was a very good one in this office but she left and opened a practice in texas, I'm betting it was because this ass didn't like her actually taking care of the animals and having a heart for the owners.
I'm still pissed, I can't help it.
You should be well and truly pissed and keep the anger up. Sometimes you can accomplish more with an angry mood.
Try a recommendation from an equine vet you trust - sounds like a best bet considering a good vet is hard to find.

I got a feeling Goliath isn't going to make it to the weekend. He had two episodes overnight and now he's starting with that disoriented stuff after those little 'attacks'. This is exactly like what my dog Boots went through.
I'm going to be calling the regular vet and the emergency vet to get prices on cremating him because we can't bury him with all this snow. You know it's going to be a 3AM emergency visit and cost double, right?

I called the vet this morning. OMFG - they want $435+ to put him down and cremate him!
A group cremation and not taking his ashes home is $99
Euthanisia is over $200 - they must sedate them to permanently sedate them. Sorry, I ain't paying for that shit. Give him the one needle.
Cremation to take him home is $235. We want that because we can't bury him.
But, I just can't see sedating him FIRST. The chemicals to euthanize him IS a sedative! The girl said that they have to do this if they are lucid or stressed. Bullshit. I've had horses that were freaking out put down with one needle. I see no reason for this illogical reasoning to keep him calm. He's going to think this is just another vet trip with a needle involved. He won't know what happens.

So, my mom finally got a call back from that awful vet today. The technician calls this afternoon asking how Cindy is doing. My mom had a fit on her. She was promised a call YESTERDAY before 1 and never got it. Long story short, the vet actually came into the office, listened to messages, CHANGED the message to say they decided to close because they didn't have appts and then left without even calling!
This is reprehensible. Mom is having a fit.
She demanded her records and said she's going to pick them up on Wednesday and she had better not get any arguments over it.
Turns out this place is a nation wide chain. Feline Medical Center. Based in California somewhere. Now you know why they don't give a shit. Corporate crap is what it is.
I told her to report this bitch.

I told her to keep her cool until she gets all the medical records. I'm surprised she gave the info to me because she knows the trouble I can make for the woman. Dr. Campbell. Bah, I learned long ago to never trust a Campbell.
Once mom gets those records I'm going to make life miserable for that bitch. Hell, I may even open a whole website just to cause her grief.

Up early with another "episode" with Goliath. Tonight is the night. Daisy goes in for her checkup today and since I was up, I called two emergency clinics. Turns out Dr. Laura will be in the one that we frequent and who knows him this weekend. Their prices are two hundred dollars less than everyone, including the regular vets! We may bring him in tonight and this way Dr. Laura can say goodbye too. She really got attached to the old man.
