0 I can't even imagine fighting wars like that anymore. Just got through watching Spartacus and that was even more gory with nothing but hand to hand combat. I think our modern day bombs are actually more humane in comparison.

0 I agree. Especially when you hear the numbers of dead and casualties from just a single battle.
Antietam was the worst single day at 22,000 + Seven Days Battle totaled 35,000 + Gettysburg was by far the worst at 50,000 + over the 3 days of fighting. Pickett's charge was a wholesale shooting gallery for the North. And the peaceniks of today are upset over approx 11,000 US killed and approx 21,000 when casualties are included total so far between Iraq and Afghanistan! Geeze Antietam was double the death toll and 1,000 more total on a single day! |
