Damn and i thought i had a hard enough time dealing with the bible thumpers here. 0.o
My money is on this ending in bloodshed, the only thing packs of raving religious fanatics seem to understand, if history is anything to go by.
Just hope the little girl and her family make it through ok.

Haha, these are the fucking Ultra-Orthodox (Haisidic) Jews who don't do much of anything but study Hebrew and the Talmud.

Not many Israelis like them because they don't like anyone - whats more, they do not serve their country like everyone else (including this little blonde girl when she grows up) will have to do. Totally tax-subsidized, their existence.

Of course, they don't wonder that they live in such a safe place for Jews - especially with the options just over Israel's borders. Instead, they piss on Israelis. Some people just don't need to exist.

Gunnen, these Ultra-Orthodox Hasidic's are NOT the same ones you are thinking of. I don't know if Missoula has a large Jewish population but here, we have a HUGE Hasidic population and I assure you, they are nothing like these Ultra-Orthodox Jews.

Yes, they live for the most part, in squalor and are not the best kept or clean (as rumor and gossip has proved), but they are kind and tolerant people here. Yes, they study the Torah and live by their religious beliefs and stay in close knit communities, but they are not violent. I've lived in their neighborhoods and they are safe. Actually I think I'm the only one who does not call them Stinky Jews or berate them every chance I get.

These Hasids in the story are beyond them. They are the sect of Hasidism that the Hasids here are fearful of. For the life of me I cannot think of the proper name for them because the news story does not describe them properly, but in Israel, there has always been this insane faction of Hasidim that make everyone nervous there. They are like the Amish in a way where they reject anything modern and live strictly 'by the book'. What's really ironic is that they are just like the Arabs who fight against them and their right to exist. There never will be peace in that region.

A lot of these people do not believe Israel should exist among other things IIRC. And it is true about most of the Orthodox/Hasidic/Whatever types not having to serve in the Army, as well as being subsidized to study religion much of the time.

I am sure most are harmless, but many of them are resented by Israeli society, and these hardcore types are probably hated. Most folks who immigrate to the US as a group, have to be nice to get around among the other inhabitants. That isn't always the case elsewhere, certainly not with these people.

Does anyone have those videos of the streetfights between the Haisidic and Sikrim (sp?) Jews? At least that's entertaining. The rest of the story here is just plain sorry.
