Privacy Group Sues DHS Over Social Media Monitoring Program
Great, now the DHS wants to monitor forums, social media and other websites for enemies of the state?

Privacy Group Sues DHS Over Social Media Monitoring Program <-- clicky

A privacy advocacy group is suing the Department of Homeland Security for information about an emerging program designed to monitor social media activity.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center, claiming the "legal authority for the DHS program remains unclear," went to federal court in Washington, D.C., this past week to try and compel the department to turn over documents on the initiative.

Though still in development, DHS is looking to establish a system for monitoring "forums, blogs, public websites and message boards." The idea is to gather and analyze publicly available information, and then use that information to help officials respond to disasters and other situations. [click to read full story]

I call bullshit on that underlined paragraph. Why would they need to monitor a site like this for a disaster? I wouldn't notice my house shaking if there were an earthquake while I'm sitting here?

I was trying to find different news sources for this story but it seems only Fox News has it - online anyway. The rest was all blogs and forums discussing this and linking to the same story.

If such a thing is in development, that's really stepping over the line. They might as well be looking at our mail and monitoring every citizen's phone calls.

Perhaps every day, or so, everyone should make a point of bringing up a special image of someone shooting the Feds the Bird. That should help them feel important, and appreciated.

I can just imagine what they will be doing once they read some of my posts where I am praying for a mushroom cloud over the Washington Monument. I bet they will really go crazy over those. Wink

Ooooh oooooh....let me get in on this!

Obama is a jugheaded moron. (they will call this a racist comment)
Someone should tell him he's not ""the bomb". (the word bomb will get their attention)
Let's all make pizza guns and threaten others at lunch. (guns in the same sentence as threaten will raise their awareness)

How about I drive their word filters and meta tag programs nuts?

Bomb, explode, threaten, kill, assassinate, Obama, destroy, building, terror, Al Qaida, shoot, fire, maim, nuclear, c4, nitrocellulose, nitroglycerin, trinitrotoluene, ANFO, plutonium, uranium, plot, plan, schedule,Allah, infidel.

Oh yeah I almost forgot......government scum.
