0 Sitting in Olive Garden so Matt can have his free vet's dinner. Thanks for putting this up, Twist. Been super busy all day and it totally slipped my mind.
Matt got a personal thank you from the manager and a $10 coupon to boot! So did the vet at the next table. Hell, it actually sounded sincere and not contrived.

0 Thank you for your service.
I appreciate each and every veteran, as well as our police and fire fighters. http://www.nragive.com/ringoffreedom/index.html
A resolution to avoid an evil is seldom framed till the evil is so far advanced as to make avoidance impossible.

0 On the 11th hour, of the 11th day, of the 11th month of 1918, World War One, the war to end all wars, The Great War, ended. Thanks to the internet, I have a habit of catching the Remembrance Day ceremonies in the UK and various commonwealth nations. It was good as usual, if very solemn at Whitehall in London.
I could have done the free wings at Hooter's today, among a million other events going on it seems around here in town, but I was more content to lounge around in my pajamas watching movies and doing college homework. I dunno how many times, despite being in mufti, I was somehow picked out of the crowd and given a free beer, or free meal or some other service by someone better than I. I kind of wanted to avoid this time. I never felt comfortable when that happened anyhow, especially when I got back from deployment to OIF. At least America reveres it's soldiers. I hope everyone enjoyed their day today, most especially other vets out there.

0 Thank you on behalf of Matt, Havoc. If he bothers logging in I'm sure he'll thank you himself, but just in case - I speak for him.
Last year we took a trip to the Intrepid Museum. Gunnen, if you're ever interested in that, take a look at the thread HERE. I managed a few really good pictures. We wanted to go back again this year because we got in late last time and didn't get the full experience without having to rush. Matt decided to work instead this year so we went out to eat for the sake of it. It wasn't until maybe the last 10 years or slightly longer that we really didn't do much for our vets other than the ceremonies on the two holidays. Since this war in the Mid-east, our service men and women have garnered a lot more respect once they come home or their tour is up and they're out of the service. Sadly, the country doesn't do more for them after their out IMO. You guys shouldn't have to beg for VA services and there should be some perks given once you're out.
