I honestly don't know where to start with the pictures. My desktop is a view from the boat deck, which is a 20 minute speed boat ride north of the actual Arctic line. We were staying with my friend and her partner further north in a town called Ornes for most of the trip, but spent 3 days with her parents (and the sheep) on their farm. The nearest shop is a boat trip to Rodoy, an island 20 minutes out in the fjord, or its a road trip inland to a supermarket an hour away. I thought my aunt was remote in West Virginia!
Fresh snow 21st June
The west side of the glacier on the lower 'Small Dam'
The dreaded 'dried cod'
The fjord from the farm as the sun is lower in the sky (about mid-night)
As low as it gets, 00.45am
This is the south side of the glacier and the part Christine, our daughter climbed in 2007 with 2 very dishy looking guides.
Anne's father's boat moored up for lunch.
The Arctic Line marker.
Another view of the setting sun north of Ornes with the memorial of those lost in a submarine in the bay during the war.
sunny midday from the house.
