Thanks to my mom finding a problem with my phone system, I would up calling Verizon last week and they had a better internet/phone/TV deal for us.

MORE speed on the internet and MORE TV channels and digital Voice phone for LESS money! All for a two year contract.

So, considering Verizon FiOS was fast as it is at 20 MBS I got 24 now and decided to do that speed test thing again. I was clocking a steady 19.5 download and 4.5 uploads on the 20 and now I'm going above the 24!

Just click the image to go to the site to check your internet speed.

So my .83 is pretty good huh?

Whatever...I pay like $60 a month for my crappy phone, my crappy cable tv, and my crappy internets. Meh, it's better than the dial-up I had a year ago.

If any of you are using Comcast and getting those low numbers and are paying for anything over their 6MB service - call and bitch like mad! When I switched from Comcast to FiOS the tech who came to take our old boxes said they are notorious for not sending the full signal you're paying for out.

I must say I am very pleased with the FiOS and if you can get it, you should. This is the ONLY ISP that has actually delivered on the speeds they sell you.

Kim, your download speed is pretty good. Upload is crap but if you're on wireless that could be why.

Not bad for comcast Big E! Are you buying their highest megabit package?

Check your speed daily for a week and see if it's constant.

I just checked mine again and it's a pretty steady signal.

The thing with cable is that you also SHARE actual wire bandwidth with anyone on your sub-division. So, if everyone is on, with both TV and internet in use, you can get far lower speeds than you're paying for. Its a limitation of the physical cables, not the provider. If they update to the modern cable you wont have that problem though. Its only going to affect you if your physical cable (including the pole cable) was installed prior to 1994. Enjoy.

12 Meg package. Not quite getting full speed.
