The only dog I ever had to use a pinch collar on, was a big rottie... and he was just so insensitive from being mishandled, that it would have taken forever to get his attention without one. I usually use a 'choke' collar, which is a misnomer if it is used correctly of course. There should never be tension on the collar long enough to actually 'choke' a dog.
