I saw this early this morning. Totally shocked but a friend of mine posted on Facebook that there was a troubled past:

If there are two things that my family absolutely love, it’s traveling & good food. That being said you could appreciate our love for Anthony Bourdain, and the fact that we have never missed one episode of Parts Unknown. I learned so much about life in general thru his travels, he often talked about his troubled past, so this doesn’t surprise me as much as I would have thought it would, however I am incredibly sad that my family won’t be able to sit around the dinner table on Sunday nights and prepare for new episodes of Parts Unknown in the future.
I have made so many posts on FB in the past in regard to how much I envied his job. So if you’ve followed my page in the past this probably won’t surprise you! Today is a sad day especially for myself and my son. We may have been his biggest fans...wish we could have told him!
I hope you are now at peace, thank you for the impression you have left on my family Mr Bourdain.
