The occurance isn't the setup here BUT the media focus "kinda" is. Any time a horrific event occurs close on the heels of an event involving a liberal public figure the media shifts focus to the event and shoves the political/celebrity news out of the cycle completely. Should the political/celebrity person be conservative this is not the case. They will back burner it but still keep it alive.
