0 50k miles you do it or if you see a drop in gas mileage, there is a air filter cleaner you can get at pep boys you spray it on, wash it with regular water then some filters require oiling some do not. You need to look up your specific model, odds are you will only have to clean it once or twice in the life of the car especially since its not your daily driver.
