Frankly, is all about the paycheck in my case and in that of many other people. I never had much patriotic fervor in me, and I could give a shit less what happens overall to the entity that is our gov't and the body politic that is our country.
All the things that happen in gov't are the result of the voter letting them happen, or even putting people in office to make it happen, or the people in office hiring bureaucrats, etc.
