Yea, and the fact people don't have self-control is what the market looks for and, you guessed it, sells its products with this in mind. To be honest, I could care less about people making their own decisions, since most of them are instant gratification animals with no concept of a higher meaning to life. I won't tell them no or force them to do things, but it sure is nice when something goes belly up so they have one less option as an enabler.
And oh yes, fuck union quite a bit. At the same time, not even non-unionized workers have a hard time competing with slave labor in foreign markets.
Thing is, while I hate a lot of unions, the Nurse's Union has done A LOT for my mom with a current problem she is having with the hospital she has worked for the last 39 years. And this isn't a mediocre woman -- she has received awards, accolades, and all sorts of shit over the years for being a good nurse. Yea, they are trying to get rid of her just before she retires so they don't have to pay her pension or any of that shit, and replace her (an LPN) with an RN spot. They are citing her hearing problems as the issue, when it didn't seem to be a problem for the last 39 years. How convenient. It's all VERY SHADY in how they are doing this, the amount of bullshit involved, the backstabbing and scheming - her union came in and raised a ruckus with the hospital. Awaiting a decision tomorrow for the whole fiasco. Needless to say, I am not happy with this, but at least the union was there with lawyers, the labor law books, regulations, and contract obligations to keep my mother from being fucked over hardcore.
But yea, a business should have the choice to do what it wants to do all the time because it feels like it......same with firing them -- if they want to just do it, they can, it is their right. Don't like it, start your own business ahahahaha
Is it wrong to hate capitalism and communism/socialism at the same time?
