You could try to polish the glass with toothpaste. It contains a very light abrasive (hence the "whitening" effect).
This works for clouded headlight lenses too. Use a small amount and try it in a corner you don't see well like the bottom or top passenger side. Use a wet piece of cotton material like a piece of an old T-shirt. Use a light touch and polish like you would a chrome piece.
Ultra Brite or Colgate seem to work best.
