Maybe everyone should read the book- then see the film.
The problem so often is trying to adapt a book into a realistic film time- I find any film over 2 hours can be too long, unless it really is mind gripping and time just flies by.
No1 son goes to the cinema every Tuesday to see B films (The Blob etc) sometimes he says over dinner 'Mum want to come and see ... such and such (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo was last week) it's 196 minutes or so'
I didn't go to see above, but I hear him talking about a 'short' for tomorrow
