I'm just talking about statistics. If you are going by the numbers than children are entering puberty, on average, earlier than fifty years ago. Its something in the diet.

Study: More U.S. girls starting puberty early

Now Girls And Boys Are Starting Puberty Earlier

And here is the latest idea as to why: Why Are 7- and 8-Year-Old Girls Entering Puberty? And note that highly refined carbohydrates fit neatly into this latest thinking. The more of them you eat, the easier it is to pack on those extra pounds. And since boys tend to be more highly energetic, they almost always enter puberty later than girls. It may also have something to do with the same reason why skinny people live a good deal longer than overweight people. They tend to mature later, and die later too. And they usually exercise much more and keep the body in a physical stressful state, due to all that burning of calories. Highly refined carbohydrates tend to pack on much more calories that will be added to the fat cells of sedentary children.

Quote:The most likely culprit of precocious puberty is the obesity epidemic. Overweight girls are 50 percent more likely to enter puberty early, and those considered obese have an 80 percent chance of developing breasts The F.D.A. doesn't require that manufacturers prove their safety before they are used.
before their ninth birthday. In this country, nearly one third of children and teens are overweight or obese. The F.D.A. doesn't require that manufacturers prove their safety before they are used.

Why would fat signal the body to mature faster? Probably by tripping the hormone system that starts puberty in the first place. In the normal pre-teen brain, a grape-sized structure called the hypothalamus starts secreting the chemical GnRH, which then, by way of the pituitary gland, tells the ovaries and testes to make estrogen and testosterone, and in girls, "breast buds" are usually the first result. While this process is normal, chubbier children have more of the chemical leptin, which can stimulate the release of GnRH, as well as the pituitary's hormones.
