I saw that story on the news the other day. I just don't understand why they don't get the CHRIST part of the word Christmas and understand the kid was right and the teacher wrong.
What gets me is all the athiests who despise the holiday but will put up a tree and exchange gifts under the guise of "they stole Christmas from the pagans" or it's just a holiday tree. Some have gone so far as to say it's just a nice time of year and the general idea is to just celebrate the giving and loving spirit.
Well who do you think gave them that giving and loving spirit? Jesus Christ and the Christians!
If you're going to be an atheist, then so be it but don't be a friggin hypocrite and put up a tree and exchange gifts! Do not say you're doing it for your kids sake. If you're a true atheist then you'll teach your kid you just don't celebrate these holidays, or any others - period.
