I used to work that way too but when I did the math........$$30.00 coffee makers only last about a year for me and they don't have all the nice features. So at that it's $90 in 3 years with pots who will cook off coffee in an hour or so and no grinder. Add another $10 - $15 in the same time frame and you have the better Cuisinart. Ya just pay up front and realize the benefits over time.
Kinda like buying a Kitchen Aid stand mixer.
