I am enthralled with Dante Allegheri only because of his Divine Comedy, which I've read a couple of times.
Also, The stories of the Arabian Nights, told by Princess Shahrazad but she's not considered an author. The tales are translated and told and there are several translations.
Aesop - if you get the adult version of his fables they are quite interesting! By adult version I mean the original writings, not some porno version
