You really don't want to know. Remember, we used to have a contract with the Philadelphia, Cape May and other area zoos for fencing.
They take the bodies to the lab and autopsy, even when they know the cause of death. I've seen some lab workers be downright fucked up the way they treat the corpses of the animals. One asshole made a marionette out of a money. Their opinion is "they're only animals, who cares? No one will see anyway." Yeah well, I saw.
When they're done they incinerate the remains.

The tigers will swim in there and play with all the toys floating around. In the summer, they send in blocks of ice with frozen meat in it for them to play with. Same for the other large carnivores. It's my favorite zoo.Thats how the Tampa bay zoo was except the tiger enclosure and moat was huge. It's really a beautiful zoo. What I found strange there was that the Orangutan and other mokey exhibits didn't have a fence around it that would stop the animals from escaping.
We were so close to a mother Orangutan and her baby and she was just staring at me. It was amazing, but I started to feel a little uncomfortable looking at her because I couldn't see what would stop her from jumping over and killing me if she wanted to lol? Maybe there was an invisible fence?
The Bronx zoo had a very large open area like that for the apes too. The gorillas in particular got me upset. The place was awful. A dirt and rock pit and they all huddled on the central rock separated from the crowd by a dry moat and 3 1/2 ' high wall. They looked sad and miserable and they tried not to make eye contact with anyone. They would toss a rock at the crowd on occasion.
The zoo at Hershey park was appalling. I actually made an effort to get hold of the curator at Philly and have him help me report them. He went out of his way to visit there to verify my complaints and we got a few animals removed for their safety. I haven't been back there since and I really hope they improved.
