Once again the big guns with NHRA are set to unleash their 12,000 HP monsters on the asphalt at the world's quickest and fastest strip, Maple Grove Raceway.
We weren't going to be able to attend this year due to the well pump incident eating the needed funds and then some UNTIL.............
Patty won 4 free passes!
She had seen a promotional blurb on Facebook and clicked on it, registered etc. Next day she gets a notice that she actually won the tickets! She messaged them back as instructed, they took her info (address, phone# etc etc etc) and they said "We will mail those tickets to you right away".
Lo and behold yesterday the mail arrives and sure as shit there's 4 free passes.
BUT.......qualifying was cancelled for today and hopefully they can get one session in tomorrow. They can officially run on one session if need be but really prefer to run 4 sessions.
If it must come to it they can reshuffle to run finals on Monday. I always take the Monday after the races off so if it shakes out that way we can still go.
With the shitassy storm it doesn't look good for the home team though.
Contigency plan for NHRA would be to delay the event until the following week but that would really suck and I would have to beg for THAT Monday off and cross my fingers that I could get it.
Soooooooo.......I have my fingers, toes and hell my eyes and nuts crossed that they can pull it off!
