If they weren't going to attempt to flip it over they should have taken the tires off and set them on fire if they could, one at a time for heat and possibly to get attention. Tires burn for a very long time granted its kinda toxic but hey, you do what you gotta do. The smart move though was staying with the jeep regardless of flipping it or not. Its when people leave the automobile to get help they heavily risk surviving the situation.

They said that he burned the spare, and had a fire going the whole time, and heated rocks to put in the jeep to stay warm.
I mean except for flipping the jeep back over and just driving to Denny's for supper the guy did a hell of a job keeping everyone safe.

Again, none of us were there though.
