0 This is indeed a can and bottle opener. VERY old but a can and bottle opener nonetheless.
The slot in the center is for pulling small nails. Many OLD tools would be multi purpose.

0 The teeth on one side leads me to feel like it is some sort of nut tightener. It kind of reminds me of the adjustable strap wrenches.

0 I'm sticking with bottle opener. Years ago bottles and cans were made of more durable materials and were thicker and bigger.

0 OK, we'll go with a bottle opener. Although I want to believe that it would have been sponsored by someone, you know, someone that put a product into bottles, and it is pretty heavy duty for opening bottles.
